During Harbin Fashion Week, 28 designers from around the world unite to showcase their unique collections, each representing the culture of their respective countries.
The beauty of Vietnamese women is highlighted in the new collections created by talented designer Thuy Nguyen.
Thuy presents various long dresses made from traditional fabrics such as cotton, silk and satin, featuring vibrant colors.
Each creation is inspired by the stories and dreams that the designer discovered while interacting with local women during her visits to remote locations across the country.
The locally acclaimed designer graduated from the Vietnam University of Fine Arts and obtained a master’s degree from the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture in Ukraine in 2003.
She is not only a renowned fashion designer but also an accomplished visual artist involved in painting, art installations, as well as movie and fashion design.
In 2011, she opened her first store in Ho Chi Minh City. Her designs often revolve around themes such as motherhood, homeland, spirituality, and nature.
Giving up his career at a beverage company in London, Chris Thompson followed his father to Vietnam to build their own business. Nachi’s work has stood out among 587 other artists from around the world, even though it’s just a one-shot comic. Inspired by her passion for astronomy, the story revolves around the daily lives of celestial bodies such as the Sun, Earth, Moon, Venus, Saturn, and Jupiter. These celestial bodies work together to protect and sustain life on Earth. “I enjoy learning about astronomy, but I’m not very good at math, so my dream of working for NASA is nearly impossible. That’s why I try to tell stories about this topic from my own perspective and imagination,” she said. Through meticulous illustrations and giving planets and stars human-like qualities, Nachi hopes to bring astronomy closer to people in a simpler way. Hanoi will host 83 flower markets from January 20 to February 9, a week before the Lunar New Year’s Eve. Visitors to the markets can find a wide variety of flowers, ornamental plants, fruit trees, and handicraft products that are typical for the festive season. The markets will be held across the capital, with Hoan Kiem district hosting a traditional flower market on Hang Luoc street in Hang Ma ward. In addition, Hai Ba Trung district will have three flower markets in Mo market, Thong Nhat park, and Tuoi Tre park. In early February 2024, Ho Chi Minh City will launch a spring flower festival and six flower markets to celebrate the Lunar New Year holiday.
